Val Vasquez, DPT, COMT
Val was born Hickory, NC and graduated from UNCW with a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science and Spanish. He played rugby for the UNCW Clamdiggers and worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for UNCW prior to starting PT school. Val started at Bodies in Balance as a volunteer and then transitioned to the front office manager. He then graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from George Washington University in Washington DC. He found his internship at Sports, Spinal, and Rehab Solutions in Sydney, Australia particularly rewarding in enhancing his PT education. Val began his PT career in Vail, Colorado with Howard Head Sports Medicine, sponsors of the USA ski and snowboard teams. After 2 years in Vail, he returned back to Wilmington to work at Bodies in Balance PT. He is a talented manual therapist and sport rehab specialist. Val completed his rigorous Certification in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy ( COMT) in 2015. And, he is near achievement of the Maitland Certification with 5 of 6 courses completed. He enjoys exercise, surfing, snowboarding, Rugby and the outdoors.
