Internships

Bodies in Balance Physical Therapy offers several opportunities to learn about the field of physical therapy:

  • Volunteer positions to gain observation hours for admission into PT school
  • Class based internships: non-paid internships often corresponding to an internship learning experience at UNC-W
  • Paid internships: Often Bodies in Balance will interview from our volunteer pool or outside qualified candidates for a paid internship. We look for dynamic, professional prospective physical therapy candidates this position.

Paid internship provides highly interactive exposure in our outpatient PT setting.Interns gain valuable experience in the following areas:

  • Direct Patient Setup
  • Patient Scheduling
  • Physical Therapist Support
  • Clinic Administration
  • Insurance/ PT Business Practice
  • Problem Solving in Medical Practice Setting

Bodies in Balance PT Interns are able to gain clinical confidence and enhance their PT application through exposure to our outpatient clinical ares that include orthopaedics, but also unique areas of practice in vestibular and oncology. Since opening the practice in 2008, we have had more than 25 interns have gained admittance for Physical Therapy School to obtain their Doctorates:
